Prayer requests are reviewed within 30 minutes to 24 hours. You can request for your prayer to remain completely confidential between just the pastor, shared with our prayer team, or lifted up with the entire congregation.

One of the things Jesus did the most is pray. He taught us that taking time away from the busyness of life to talk with God is one of the most powerful things we can do. Prayer, when it's done right, brings us closer to God. It reveals His heart and helps to open our eyes and ears to where He is moving in our lives.

How to Pray

Learning how to pray can be challenging. Whether you are praying for the first time or have grown up in church, this guide explores how Jesus teaches us to pray and offers a template to strengthen your practice.

In Matthew 6:9–13 (NIV), Jesus provides clear instructions:

“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”

Many know this as the Lord’s Prayer, spoken directly by Jesus and prayed by Christians for centuries. While it serves as a complete prayer in itself, it also functions as a step-by-step outline for how to structure our own prayers.

Here is how to use it as a model:

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”

Praise & Adoration: Begin by recognizing who God is. He is our heavenly Father. He's sovereign, holy, and worthy of praise. Start your prayer by offering Him thanks and praising His character.

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Alignment & Submission: Pray for God’s will to shape your life and the world around you. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your desires, helping you discern and yield to His purpose above your own.

“Give us today our daily bread.”

Petition & Provision: Present your needs to God. This includes basic physical necessities (like food, shelter, and health) as well as spiritual and emotional needs like peace, comfort, and wisdom.

“And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.”

Confession & Forgiveness: Bring your mistakes and sins before God, asking for His mercy. Use this time to also ask for the strength to extend forgiveness to those who have hurt you.

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Protection & Deliverance: Acknowledge your vulnerabilities and ask for God’s guidance to resist temptation. Seek His divine protection against spiritual harm and the forces of evil.

“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.”

Doxology & Closing Praise: Conclude as you began: focused on God’s majesty. Thank Him for hearing your prayers, caring for your needs, and acting faithfully in your life.

“Amen.”

This traditional ending comes from a Hebrew word meaning “so be it” or “let it be fulfilled.” It is a declaration of trust that God hears and responds to our prayers.

Building a prayer habit takes practice and patience. When distractions arise, simply acknowledge them, set them aside, and return your focus to God. Prayer is a privilege. It's an open invitation to communicate directly with your Creator. Use this framework whenever you need guidance on what to say.
